This yellow-flowered shrub with needle-like leaves is very common around LuLette and La Rocca. It is called "inestra," or "ginestra." It grows to a height of 5 or 6 feet, as you can see in the photo of the shepherd's hut--the shrubs to the left of the hut are inestra. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Wildflowers on Blockhaus. The Maiella are covered with an incredible number of wildflowers and aromatic herbs. A liquor which originated in this area, called Centerbe (100 herbs), is made at Tocca da Casauria; it's flavored with the herbs of the Maiella. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
