Left: Doorway to the Senior Center, topped by a carved stone sign, above.
In the building on the left is the Senior Center (Associazione Pensionati Lettesi), next door to the Municipio in Piazza Umberto I.
Opposite the Senior Center and the Municipio is a corner bar operated by Fernando Ferrante. It's a popular place to sit outdoors, sip a beverage, and share the news of the day.
Little Via Cairoli, behind the building in which Fernando Ferrante's bar (above) is located.  Virtually all of the shops on this street, most of which are shown below, are owned by members of the Cardinale family.
Grocery store on via Cairoli, owned by Osvaldo Cardinale and his wife Regina Di Nicolantonio, pictured at right.  Osvaldo is the son of Nunzio Cardinale, the butcher pictured below.
Nunzio Cardinale, who operates the macellaria (butcher shop) located to the left of his son's grocery store.
To the right of the grocery store is a bakery, Vecchio Forno di Cardinale, operated by Francesco Cardinale (above right) and his wife Irma Di Biase (above left).  Francesco is holding a photo of a special cake made for someone in Lettomanoppello.  He has quite a sense of humor - when we told him we thought via Cairoli should be renamed via Cardinale for all the Cardinale shopowners, he replied with a laugh "yes, we're all cardinals here, no pope."
Also on via Cairoli, across from the bakery, is a shop called 'Soft Art', operated by Giuseppe Cardinale on the left and Matteo Cardinale on the right, his cousin. The shop specializes in flowers and gifts.
